Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is nestled in a charming Cotswold location, perfect for relaxing walks and exploring the area. The rooms offer a cosy atmosphere, complete with Sunday papers for a leisurely morning. While the rooms are spacious with a large double four-poster bed, they could benefit from a modern update.
The hotel was splendidly located right in the heart of Burford, surrounded by charming independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. The rooms had a delightful character, were impeccably clean, and offered spacious interiors along with a generously sized bathroom with both bath and shower facilities. The location was truly amazing for exploring the town and beyond, although a minor downside was the initial untidiness that slightly marred the first impression. Dining was described as yummy, complementing the great size of the bedroom and bathroom. Overall, the hotel facilities were excellent, enhancing the overall experience.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, despite some cleanliness issues, were surprisingly spacious, with the highlight being the excellent bath in the Sherbourne suite that comfortably fit two people. The location was convenient, right in the center of Burford but noisy due to the busy high street traffic. The service was friendly, with a comfy bed and well-cooked breakfast, though the timing of the cottage availability was a bit late for my liking. The dining was enjoyable with friendly staff and a good selection of pastries, yogurt, juices, cereal, and fruit, although they were short-staffed. The facilities were decent, but there were some discrepancies with the reservation, including being given a different room than booked.
The hotel was quite large and well-equipped, with comfortable chairs and a bathroom featuring a great soaking tub. However, the bathroom lacked a shower, and noise from traffic could be heard early in the morning. The service was very friendly and welcoming, providing excellent breakfast options and suggestions for nearby dining. The location was perfect for exploring shops and eateries, though the noise from the busy high street was noticeable. Dining experience was enjoyable, despite some limitations on the menu variety. Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly staff in a convenient location.
My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The room was out of this world for the size, and the bath in the Sherbourne suite was excellent; two people could fit comfortably. The bed was fantastic, big, and with a very comfortable bed and two chairs to sit around a coffee table. The service was top-notch with friendly staff who went the extra mile to ensure a great experience. The location was perfect for exploring the town and the rest of the Cotswolds, though a bit noisy due to traffic. The dining experience was superb with lots of interesting and modern choices. Overall, a great value for money stay.
